The winner of a free ticket to Black Hat DC is …

Last week I announced that I had a full boat pass to Black Hat DC the week of Feb 15th available. I asked people to leave a comment with the reason why they were most deserving of the gift.  I have to say I was bowled over by the responses!  However, I can only pick one winner.  So before I tell you who I picked, let me say:

1. StillSecure had some other passes to the show. As of yet, I don’t think they are spoken for and if possible I will award more tickets, so stay tuned.

2. Tyler Reguly, dude your right, you were 1st to comment.  But come on, you do lots of Black Hats and other shows.  How would it look to give this one to you. Sorry but I just can’t do it.  But hey I will buy you a drink at either RSA or Black Hat Vegas.

3. Andrew Hay – You have never been to a big conference? Come on, Canadian or not (though working in the tropics makes you just a little less sympathetic), you have been around long enough to have done your fair share of shows.  However, if I get any more tickets will reach out to you.  Also, let me look into RSA as well for you. Would love to have you at the bloggers meet up.

4. Raffi Jamgotchian – While I truly do appreciate that you and your kids are also Yankee and Steeler fans, I can’t just give them to you for that (though I have to tell you that it was very close, I almost did).

5. Rob Fuller – Hey I finally did the Twitter thing with you, the Black Hat tickets on top of that would be a lot, but if I can get more will let you know.

6. Sean – If I knew what Watney’s Red Barrel was you might have had a better chance.  Sorry for being so ignorant, but I just wasn’t on board.

7. Jaime – you are my first runner up.  Just like in the Miss America contest, if for some reason the winner cannot accept the award, it is yours.  Will keep you posted if anything happens on that.

I've never been to a convention because they always hold them out west or way up north. This one, however, is not unreasonably far from me (I'm in NC), and being an aspiring security professional, I think it would help me in numerous ways, from networking with people to learning more about the field. You don't know me from Jack, but you would make someone's year if you chose me!
