Ben Roethlisberger, Jewish or not, get well

As I have written here before, I am a huge Pittsburgh Steeler fan.  I link to Big Ben Rethlisberger's blog on my blogs I read list.  I guess because I have also written about being Jewish, anytime Ben is in the news, I get a lot of hits on my site from people searching on whether or not he is Jewish.

Capt04b3fcb7b8c149fcbf5663f27e899f71roet First of all let me say that I prayed he would live through the terrible accident he had yesterday.  I cannot for the life of me understand, after what happened to Kellen Winslow, Jr., why any professional athlete would jeopardize their career by riding a motorcycle, especially without a helmet. As much as I wanted him to be OK and make a speedy return to the game, I really question his judgment. All of that being said, I am really happy to hear that it looks like he will be OK to come back and play football this year. I hope this has showed him how precarious your health can be.

On another note, I have no idea if he is Jewish or not, nor do I really care.  I would think probably not though, as I think his name is spelled more in a German or even Swiss manner. Also, being Jewish, I don't know many Jewish guys who drive around on motorcycles without helmets!

Ben, I am glad you are alive and hope you make a full and speedy recovery!  Please stay off the bikes.
